Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of perceived agrarian injustice and feelings of oppression on farmers’ collective mobilization in the agrarian conflict in Aek Nabara Barumun District. Using an explanatory quantitative approach, data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 154 farmers and members of the Komite Tani Tano Jaya Mandiri (KTTJM) who were directly involved in the conflict. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS, including validity, reliability, path coefficient, R-square, and bootstrapping tests. Interview data were also used to strengthen the interpretation of statistical findings. The results show that perceived agrarian injustice and feelings of oppression have positive and significant effects on farmers’ collective mobilization, with T-statistic values above 1.96 and P-values below 0.05. The R-square value of 0.64 indicates that the model explains 64% of collective mobilization. The study links cognitive, emotional, and collective action dimensions within local agrarian conflict and farmer resistance.
